As the curtain begins to fall on the Queensland racing carnival, the last Group 1 of the season takes place at Eagle Farm with the Tatts Tiara the headline act there. The Listed Civic Stakes headlines a big Randwick card & some talented youngsters step out at Caulfield.

At Randwick, a forecast soft track and the rail in the 6m mark suggests closer to the pace might be the place to be. A deep card with plenty of chances in most races, including two of the deepest Highway & Midway Handicaps we’ve seen, and a deep Stayers Cup & Civic Stakes. Both boys are tipping a big day for the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou stable.

At Caulfield we’re greeted by a soft track with the rail in the true position. Again the interest on the day is built around some lightly raced conveyances coming to town for the first time for stables such as Peter Moody & Bussittin-Young, who also roll out a couple of imports making Australian debuts.
