Summer Friday Nights continue with racing from both Canterbury & Moonee Valley, and we’ve got you covered with all the best bets from both venues!
CANTERBURY PARK RAIL: +2m TRACK: Good 4
R1 – 1100M BIVOUAC FIRST YEARLINGS HANDICAP
Have loved the trials the Team Hawkes’ trained debutante here Iced Chocolate. The 3YO filly looks to have a bit of ability and has shown both the ability to lead, as well as sit off the pace in the most recent jump out, and we expect a very forward showing here.
R2 1550M DRINKWISE PLATE
Another 3YO maiden that we can make some money from, as No.5 So Outrageous made a good debut at the Rosehill midweeks 10 days ago behind a talented filly. Joshua Parr should be able to find the rails here and see the gelding go one better.
R3 1250M THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE PLATE
Somewhat terrified of the resuming No. 1 Botanica here, but have decided that Tim Clark rolling to the front on a Waterhouse-Bott trained runner is the recipe for success under lights at Canterbury, and that fits the bill in No. 5 Vanquished. Saved from a couple of assignments in preparation for this, should be breaking it’s maiden here.
R4 1250M QUAYCLEAN HANDICAP
Taking a chance on what we think is the best horse here. No. 4 Tumbling made an impression on debut before taking on the G3 Kindergarten Stakes. Given plenty of time to grow in himself, the two trials in this time have been ok and if it has some of the ability we suspect, can win this fresh.
MOONEE VALLEY RAIL: True TRACK: Good
R3 1000m THE LEGACY CENTENARY BM70
The Coolmore form looks irresistible here with No. 1 Celui returning to a BM70 contest. Over raced in the Coolmore so can forgive that, it’s two wins prior were arrogant and the fact we’re getting a backable price here looks very exciting.
R5 955m LADBROKES 55 SECOND CHALLENGE
A bit of a track specialist in No. 1 Sparring. Gets some weight relift from the claim of Tatum Bull and last time was here at the distance ran a smart time. Recent jump out against a stablemate was good and if we’re swooping by this stage can run well here.
R7 1600m AUSTRALIASIAN RETAIL PROJECTS HANDICAP
No. 7 Impending Link pulled up with a slow recovery rate last time out at Pakenham, so penning that run and looking back at the nice first up with. Now third up to the mile if it can recreate that should be right in the finish here.
