Zaaki headlines Northerly Stakes Field

Jockey James McDonald is set to return from Hong Kong to partner with Annabel Neasham trained Zaaki in the Group One Northerly Stakes at Ascot in Western Australia on Saturday.

Zaaki will line up against 15 other runners on Saturday with a capacity field of 16 nominated to run in the $1.5m 1800m contest in the West. 

While McDonald returns from Hong Kong, the race will be the final Group One race for jockey Damien Oliver who is hanging up his saddle at the end of the year and heading for retirement. 

Oliver is set to ride interstate entrant Zoumon with Forget You the only other interstate galloper with the rest of the field made up of local runners.
