The Western Otway Racing Club consist of the following racetracks - Colac, Camperdown, Terang Racecourse, Mortlake, Dunkeld & Penshurst. Dominating the Terang Racecourse is the historic iron grandstand.
Built late in the 19th century to replace a predecessor destroyed by fire, the large structure almost runs the length of the straight.
The current site was established after the formation of the Terang Racing Club in 1868. Although the Cup was once an autumn affair, Terang has secured a prime position in the Spring Racing Carnival with the Cup contested on the Sunday after Cox Plate Day.
It is one of seven race meetings for the racing season. Feature race days at Terang Racecourse include the Terang Cup, New Years Day Racing and Easter Saturday Racing. The Terang Cup is run in late February or early March each year.
