Canberra Racecourse, also known as Thoroughbred Park is one of the most modern racetracks in Australia and is designed to provide the highest level of safety on a surface that will deliver highly competitive and bias free racing.
The course features two race tracks, the turf course proper and the all-weather Acton Track.

Canberra Racecourse was redeveloped in 2004 to incorporate a new all-weather track known as the Acton Track.
The new updated Canberra Racecourse was first used for the Canberra Cup meeting in October, 2005. The Acton Track staged its first full meeting on Friday May 12, 2006, with a cost of $2.25 million to erect.
The Thoroughbred Park Racecourse is turf track, while the new Acton Racetrack is an all-weather synthetic track.

Canberra Racecourse has a 1,815 metres circumference, a 400 long home straight and is 25 metres wide. It has a 5% camber on the long turns at both ends.
The track is generally a flat track and can be a difficult one if drawn out wide.
