A strong line up is headlined by Victoria Derby winner Warning for this Saturday’s Listed Winter Cup over 2400m at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney’s West.
The Anthony and Sam Freedman trained runner was in great form last Spring when winning the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2600m at Flemington and The Bentley St Ledger Stakes at Randwick over the same distance. Warning is one of a 13 strong field that will contest the Sydney staying contest on Saturday.
With only 13 entered so far, entries have been extended by 24 hours to allow additional runners to enter.
The Bott and Waterhouse team won the race in 2021 when they saw Knights Order win the Winter Cup before he went on to win the Sydney Cup in impressive style at Randwick over 3200m in the Autumn.
They will be looking to defend there title they won last year with Military Mission and Taikomochi lining up this year for the stable.
The Rosehill card is looking stacked for a winter weekend of racing with over 200 runners nominated to contest the 10 race card on Saturday.
Much like the Autumn the Rosehill Gardens track is still in the heavy range with the track currently graded a heavy 8 surface. However there is a small glimmer of hope with no rain forecast before the weekend. It is hoped the track will dry out further before racing takes place on Saturday.
The rail will be in the 3m position for the entire course.
