With extra rain expected between now and the first jump on Saturday it’ll be interesting to see how the much criticised Eagle Farm drainage system holds up. We’re basing all our tips on the ground playing in the soft range and with more rain before the end of Saturday could play to a heavy track.
Eagle Farm Race 2 - Redoute’s Image $1.95
The name suggests impeccable breeding and showed talent on her last start when winning by 2.75l despite the rider losing an iron on the way round. She over raced on the way to victory as well that day and still managed to win impressively.
Has won third up before in the past and the booking of Craig Williams suggests the Lees stable are expecting good things here.
Draws well and been well backed all week. Should be right in the finish.
Back Redoutes Image to win.
Eagle Farm Race 4 - Polly Grey $2.45
The Waller runner has been in great form over the longer distances including a neck length win in the Listed Mayors Cup over 2000m at Rosehill Gardens.
Last start can be forgiven over the 1600m. With the track set to move into the soft range the big grey will enjoy the conditions and should be getting home on top.
Back Polly Grey to win.
Eagle Farm Race 8 - Savatiano - $9
In an open affair we’re going for something with a bit of value in the Godolphin trained Savatiano.
Loves this distance with an impressive record of 14 starts for 4 wins and 7 placings which translates to excellent each way value.
Is drawn wide which is a concern but finished 1.75 lengths of Vega One in the Kingsford Smith who franked that form when finishing runner up in the Stradbroke.
Back Savatiano Eachway
