The return of Think It Over has commanded respect from punters and bookies with the 5 year old gelding moving into $11 to win the Group 1 Winx Stakes over 1400m.
Trainer Kerry Parker is hoping that the Winx Stakes will just be the starting point for his gun runner however with a Cox Plate campaign the overall target.
Think It Over currently sits behind red hot favourite Verry Elleegant ($2.80) in betting for the G1 however he has been used to being an underdog after claiming a maiden Group 1 win as a $26 outsider in the George Ryder Stakes.
However this will be the first time Think It Over won’t be an outsider on the main stage:
“I’d think he’ll still be 20/1 in the Winx Stakes against those high quality horses,” Parker said.
“He wouldn’t be those odds if he was trained by Chris Waller. His last preparation was fantastic.”
The Parker runner will head to the trial Tuesday and line up against Verry Elleegant as well as Icebath, Stay Inside and Kolding.
“If something happens and he doesn’t go to Randwick he’ll have an 800m jump out here at Kembla but I’d rather him go and have a day out at Randwick,” Parker said.
“It would end up a proper trial where he would have to do a bit. When you’re in that company you get a good guide as to where you’re at.”
“He’s strengthened and spelled very well so I’m rapt with him.”
The Winx Stakes takes place on the 21st August.
