The Flemington track has seen three days of racing so far this week and with Stakes day rounding out the Carnival the rail has been pushed out 9m and runners are expected to be running in the middle of the track when rounding the home turn.
Flemington - Race 1 - Hosier - $2.00
This Rob Hickmott runner went undefeated last prep against a higher class of field than most of these. Resumes having won first up previously for the stable.
There has been money for the Gelding all week moving from his opening mark of $2.80 in $2 on the morning of the jump. Could go shorter but should still be a nice bank builder early doors.
Back Hosier to win
Flemington - Race 5 - Our Intrigue - $13.50
Beaver’s found a bit of value in this one with James McDonald and Chris Waller teaming up once again with Our Intrigue.
A lot to like about her recent form including most recently a third place finish at the valley where she had to run wide the whole trip with no cover to finish 3rd. Before that she had won the Port Macquarie Cup. Great each way value here and draws well to compete.
Back Our Intrigue each way
Flemington - Race 6 - Bella Nipotina - $2.00 (Place)
The race seems to be wrapped up already with Nature Strip a $1.30 favourite for the race and it's hard to see any of these stopping the Everest winner.
Our play is to back Bella Nipotina to place given her current form in the Melbourne Sprints this Spring. Hasn’t finished outside the top 3 so far this prep and the $2 makes it a much better play than $1.30 for the win.
Back Bella Nipotina to place
