The two in question were in form jockey Sam Clipperton who will miss the first day of the Championships as a result of his suspension and veteran hoop Nash Rawiller who is sidelined for the Tancred Stakes after both were cited in the Golden Slipper.
Clipperton, who has been in a rich vein of form in recent weeks, was aboard Slipper runner up Best Of Bordeaux and brought before the stewards for his role in an incident during the $5m Rosehill feature.
The charges against Sam Clipperton were allowing his mount to shift without sufficient room causing Sweet Ride, trained by Annable Neasham, causing the horse to lose momentum and need to be steadied.
Queen Of The Ball, She’s Extreme as well as the eventual Slipper winner Fireburn all had to check as a result.
Clipperton pleaded guilty to careless riding under AR131(a) and will begin a suspension after next Saturday’s Tancred Stakes meeting that will run until Thursday, April 7.
The other jockey to draw the eye of the stewards was Nash Rawillier who was aboard Sweet Ride and was also suspended for allowing his ride to shift and impeded Queen Of The Ball who lost her rightful running as a result.
Rawiller was hit with a ban that begins from Sunday morning and will run until Wednesday, March 30.
Star apprentice Tom Sherry was also given a short careless riding suspension for his steer on Harmony Rose in the Epona Stakes (1900m) but won’t miss a Saturday meeting.
