Sierra Sue who was winner for the Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and weight for age contest Group One Futurity Stakes and will be the latest female stakes grade winner to go under the hammer at a digital auction.
In recent times fellow Group One winners Tofane and Shout the Bar have gone at digital sales and reached impressive sums. Tofane, who was a multiple group one winner, raised $3.1m at sale and Shout the Bar went for a similar price tag at $2.7m.
A rising six year old, Sierra Sue is being offered for sale by Emirates park on behalf of an Ozzie Kheir lead ownership group. Kheir's bloodstock manager Matt Becker of G1 Bloodstock described Sierra Sue as 'a rare offering'.
"It takes a very good mare to beat the older horses at open weight-for-age, it's not something that happens very often," Becker said.
"It's even rarer for those types of mares to be offered at public auction, so this really is a special opportunity."
Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth was excited by the prospect of offering such a distinguished mare through the online platform.
"We are extremely grateful to the ownership group for entrusting us with Sierra Sue's sale, there's no hiding from the fact she is one of the best-performed mares we have seen in recent years and she promises to be a broodmare of the highest quality as well," Melmeth said.
The 'Sierra Sue Sale' will open for bidding at 9am on Tuesday, July 19, with the final countdown of bidding beginning at 4pm on Wednesday, July 20.
