A final field of 16 runners has been confirmed for the Group One Sangster Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday with Chris Wallers classy mare September Run set to headline the 1200m feature in Adelaide.
The four year old won the Group 1 William Reid Stakes last time out and will jump out of gate 5 at Morphettville on Saturday.
Not to be outdone by the Sydney super trainer the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable are sending a strong team to South Australia with Group 2 Sapphire Stakes winner Bella Nipotina headlining for the Victorian training duo.
Whilst Bella Nipotina drew favourably with barrier number three her stablemates didn’t fair so well with Magic Millions winner Away Game drawing the inside barrier and Snapdancer drawing the car park with the outside gate.
Other featured runners include the 2021 Sangster Stakes winner Instant Celebrity who drew wide with barrier 12, while the 2020 winner of the race, Bella Vella drew in the midfield with barrier number 7.
Four three-year-old fillies are set to contest the 2022 renewal of the race with Argentia, Heresy, Gimme Par and Champagne Dreams accepting on Tuesday morning.
Betting for the Robert Sangster Stakes remains relatively open at the moment with September Run leading the betting as a $4.80 chance. Bella Nipotina sits just off September Run as a $6.00 chance.
Outside of the front two only Argentia and Brooklyn Hustle sit in single figures as $9 chances on the third line of betting with the rest of the field all in double figures.
