This week we turn our attention to meetings at Rosehill and Caulfield.with both tracks expected to be a soft rating. Rosehill particularly is one to watch as it could chop up through the meet given the forecast extra rain.
Rosehill - Race 3 - Home Affairs
Cost a pretty penny this one at an $875k yearling price from Coolmore Stud. The 2yo had a nice trial in the run up to this leading all the way and pulling clear in the final 100m. The booking of James McDonald to ride and a solid barrier draw are both positives.
A colt from I Am Invincible should handle the wet ground and looking for a strong showing first up.
Home Affairs to win - $3.30
Rosehill - Race 5 - Marsannay
Has run into a few smart ones this prep without being disgraced. Drew wide in the Gosford Guineas before finishing Forbidden Love and The Face and chased on gamely in the wet behind North Pacific.
Looking for Tim Clark to take him to the front and control the pace and should be too good for these.
Marsannay to win - $4.00
Caulfield - Race 9 - Defibrillate
Form reads well at the moment with 7 wins from 11 starts. Form when he beat Paradee two starts back reads well after Paradee went on to win back to back races on the Gold Coast.
Should handle the wet and expected to get a midfield run from the gate and power of them late. The drop in distance doesn’t concern and looks to be one of the best bets of the day.
Defibrillate to win - $2.50
