You can tell we’re deep in winter as we see the Royal Randwick track mapping as a Heavy 9 for racing on Saturday while Flemington Racecourse is running at a Soft 6.
Randwick - Race 4 - La Chevalee - $2.45
Improving type that’s up from Melbourne and if he’s going to win a race it’s going to be this one. James McDonald onboard another tick and has drawn well to win the race.
Money has come for the 4yo mare all week doesn’t seem to be affected on rain affected tracks. Form on the heavy runs 4 starts, 2 wins and a second. Should go close.
Back La Chevalee to win
Randwick - Race 5 - Papal Warrior - $3.90
The form for this stacks up as Sydney midweek form and with Papal Warrior flying this prep it’s hard to understand why the gelding is still around the $4 mark for this.
Last run out he was favourite for the race and duly obliged when winning by 1.75 lengths on a rain affected track.
Cafe Royal does look the main danger however it’s hard to go against the recent form and style of win.
Back Papal Warrior to win
Flemington - Race 2 - Tuvalu - $3.50
Unbeaten 3 year old Tuvalu resumes here and looks to get all the favours in front and should get the run of the race.
Both the boys this week think Tuvalu looks untapped and could be heading for bigger and better things. If he is you would expecting him to put away this field with ease.
Back Tuvalu to win
As always don’t forget to check out all the boys thoughts on a ten race card at Randwick as well as a full racecard at Flemington on this week’s edition of show us your tips.
