Mystic Journey has one of the best records for a Tasmanian owned and bred horse with 12 wins and 6 placings from 28 starts with over $4m in prize money amassed.
The 6 year old was last seen on the track back in October where she finished with a battling effort to place behind Godolphin trained Colette in the Empire Rose over 1600m at Flemington during the Spring.
“The deal has been done and she goes to Victoria tomorrow to spend two weeks in quarantine before heading to Northern Farm,” trainer Adam Trinder said.
“We missed the breeding season here to run her in the Empire Rose, so I contacted some of the people that I’d met while riding in Japan.
“Northern Farm is Japan’s major breeding farm that is owned by the Yoshida family.”
Owner of Mystic Journey, Wayne Roser and trainer Trinder discussed all options for the mare before selling to Japan where they felt she would have the best stallion options.
Mystic Journey will be fondly remembered by Tasmania’s due to her record but what they will stand proudest on is her triumph in the All Star Mile back in 2019 where she collected the $2.25m in prize money with a purchase price of less than $20,000.
Mystic journey will head to Japan in the start of January to take part in there breeding season.
