Marabi is unbeaten in four starts so far and is among the list of entries that will be heading to Racing Victoria HQ this weekend to compete on the Flemington card.
A daughter of I Am Invincible, the five year old returned to action on Ballarat Cup day where she made a mess of a benchmark 70 field winning by 7 lengths whilst carrying the top weight of 60.5kgs over the 1100m.
On Saturday, Marabi could line up in a BM84 contest over the 1200m up the Flemington straight carrying her lightest penalty yet of just 57kgs. This will be the mares toughest test yet though both in the ratings and also tackling the 1200m Flemington straight.
With Marabi winning her first four starts by over 20 lengths combined the options are many for the 5 year old with co-trainer David Eustace hinting the stable may even up the anti straight away and look to the Caulfield Listed Sprint for her next start on Boxing day.
Should the stable push forward with Marabi having a look at the straight however it could also lead to a clash with fellow unbeaten rival Sixbysixtythree trained by Patrick Payne.
The Payne runner is three from three so far in his short career so far and had been set to run this past saturday before a hoof abscess ruled him out of action.
Sixbysixtythree will head to Flemington racecourse on Saturday and will race in one form or another however the stable will need to make a decision in the coming days whether the son of Turffontein will battle Marabi down the straight or tackle a BM70 race over 1400m instead after a dual nomination.
