Got It

Andrew Forsman and Murray Baker have become renowned in recent years for sending high quality horses over the ditch to claim the Autumn riches Sydney has to offer during carnival time.

Te Aku Shark, Melody Belle and John Snow have all had solid racing careers in Australia for the stable and with another nod to the Game Of Thrones naming conventions, undefeated Aegon is set to make his Sydney debut in the hunt for more gold.

Aegon is currently nominated for several races during the Autumn period with the 3 year old gelding nominated for the Australian Guineas and the All Star Mile in Victoria before a likely trip across the border to compete in the Doncaster Mile in Sydney.

The gelding extended his unbeaten start to 4 on the weekend by winning the Group 1 Karaka Million 3 year old beating home Amerelinha at Ellerslie. It was his second convincing win in a Group 1 as he came from near last at Riccarton to get home in the New Zealand 2000 Guineas.

‘‘He has come through the run good,’’ Forsman, who trains with Murray Baker, said after the Karaka Million win.

‘‘He beat a smart filly (Amarelinha) and that has given us some confidence to head towards Sydney.

‘’There was still improvement in him when he went to the races on the weekend.

‘‘We have a rough plan to get him to Sydney now and it will just depend on logistics which we will work out in the next week or two.’’

Aegon is currently rated a $26 shot for the Doncaster Mile and is likely to be tested in the Randwick Guineas on March 6th before he’s confirmed to run.

Alongside the unbeaten stable star Forsman and Baker also have plans to bring last years Australian Derby winner Quick Thinker and Sydney Cup runner up The Chosen One back for another crack at the Autumn Carnival.
