With showers forecast for the Hunter Valley region the track looks set to play in the soft range with Newcastle currently rated a Soft 7. 

Newcastle Race 1 - Uncorked - $3.80

A few making first starts here but a lot to like about Uncorked for the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable. Cruised through an impressive barrier trial at Randwick and should jump to the front and lead throughout.

Stable usually bring them to the track when they’re ready to go and should be fighting out the finish here.

Newcastle Race 4 - Harveys Way - $3.90

Looks to be a horse with a bit of ability and has made an impressive start to his career with 2 wins and a placing from 3 starts. 

Has won and placed at the track in those three starts and comes here again with the low weight and Kerrin McEvoy aboard. Should enjoy the run from the gun draw and be charging late.

Newcastle Race 5 - Milk Man - $10.00

A Matt Smith runner chasing a hat trick here and looks be in a good spot to be winning at the price and the claim.

Last start he won by 2.75 lengths and with the apprentice well and the good gate should be there late.
