With the rain set to abstain from the meeting (fingers crossed) we’re judging the track being in the high soft range by the start of the first but currently graded as heavy 8 which should favour the wet trackers.
Rosehill Race 1 - Andermatt - $8.50
Private Eye is the obvious danger having won the last 4 starts including 2 from 2 on heavy however coming back off a two month lay off and running in the mud first up could be an issue.
Isotope is also an added concern with the new fields announced this week but with conditions not set to suit we’re looking elsewhere with Andermatt.
He has the fitness edge on most of these and presents great e/w value in the race. Has a solid record on the heavy with 1 win and a place which was a close second behind Anders at this track.
Back Andermatt each way
Rosehill Race 4 - Addeyybb / Verry Elleegant Quinella
There were only 5 nominated runners last week for the Ranvet however a week delay has seen 5 grow to 9 with the addition of some big hitters to the line up.
Regardless of how you cut it though Addeyybb and Verry Elleegant are still the best horses by far in this race and we’re expecting them to battle out the finish again.
Here we’re keen to back the Quinella on the Winx / Hartnell thinking. When both would always run first and second in many a race the average price of the Quinella was $2.40.
Back Addeyybb and Verry Elleegant in a boxed Quinella
Rosehill Race 8 - Eduardo - $7.50
Eduardo has been in great form since moving to the Joe Pride stable last year and we’re backing the 7yo to continue his great form.
Beat Nature Strip last time out on a heavy and also chased Gytrash home on the heavy to finish within a length there.
Record reads well with a win at track and distance, won 2 from 3 in heavy and 2 from 3 at the track. All positives to make him a great e/w bet.
Back Eduardo e/w
