Another Godolphin runner in the way of Paulele has received early support on resuming after the gun runner for the Royal Blue stable drew the inside barrier and drew a wave of betting support for Saturday’s Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes

Eskimo Stakes field set to be hotly contested

Paulele opened up as a $4.20 shot for the Group 3 contest and was quickly backed into a $2.80 favourite after receiving an inside barrier in the draw for the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes.

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy will ride Paulele in his first up run since he finished down the track in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes during the Spring.

Paulele is in hot demand across the country however as the Godolphin colt is also listed as the $2.90 favourite Group 3 Manfred Stakes at Caulfield.

Last time out Paulele was winner of the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes over the same distance as the Eskimo Prince.

Paulele will also be joined by stablemate Zethus who is classed as a $31 for the contest after drawing the outside barrier.

Elsewhere in the group of acceptors for the Group 3 race at Randwick the Waterhouse and Bott trained runner drifted from $4.60 out to $5 despite drawing the inside barrier number 1.

Stablemate Silent Impact ($8.50) is also an acceptor after winning impressively at Randwick a fortnight ago and jumps from barrier three.

Group One winner Captivant ($31) shares topweight of 60kg with Converge and has drawn out in gate 11.

Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller has four horses which have all accepted for the race with his leading hope Ranch Hand who will be partnered by James McDonald and sits as a $7.50 chance in betting.
