Yulong locked in Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Alcohol Free as their selection for this weekends Everest.

Alcohol Free became the final runner locked in for the $20m feature and in turn ended speculation the breeding giant were attempting to lock in Kiwi sprint star Imperatriz.

The barrier draw for the final 12 takes place on Tuesday.

Alcohol Free has always been considered as an Everest hopeful having been purchased at an 8 figure sum before being handed to Waterhouse and Bott in attempt to recoup some of the outlay before a breeding career. 

The Irish bred mare ran a creditable fourth in the premiere stakes first up and with the training duo forwarding footage of her continued to Yulong Investments the decision was made to nominate her for there slot in the $20m feature.

Last years Everest winner Craig Williams has been booked to ride Alcohol Free who completes the final field for the 2023 edition of the race. 

After the withdrawal of long term market favourite Giga Kick, Peter Moody trained I Wish I Win currently leads the market as a $3.50 favourite with Alcohol Free the $51.00 outsider of the field.
