On her return to the track in the Group 3 Chairman Stakes over 1000 metres on Saturday Enthaar made light work of the field of 4 winning by 2 ¼ lengths at Caulfield.
The David Eustace & Ciaron Maher trained filly hasn’t been seen since a dominant display in the Gimcrack last year and had only been seen in a recent trial before her Group 3 challenge on Saturday.
Jockey Mark Zahra cuddled the 2 year old through the race and barely had to move to get another gear out of Written Tycoon filly who responded to finish the race 200 metres from home kicking clear by two lengths under hands and heels.
Before coming into the race Enthaar was already rated a $3.50 chance to win the Blue Diamond and moved into $3 on the day before hitting $2.10 after her impressive win.
Not many of the other entries appear to be touching Enthaar with Dosh and Jigsaw on the second line of betting at $11.
Interviewed after the race Zahra said Enthaar didn’t need much to hit her straps:
"She's the sort of horse that does her best without much encouragement," Zahra said.
"Credit to David and Ciaron, because I trialled her at Werribee and I said 'she's going to have to calm down a bit heading towards a Blue Diamond', she was a bit keen then and a bit keen in her work.
"It's easy to say 'that's how the horse won' and just leave it as is, but they listened and they were very good. We put the ear muffs on, crossover and a tongue tie and she was perfect today."
Rewatch an impressive win here.
