Zaaki currently sits atop of the betting at $3 after drawing slot 9 at Tuesdays barrier draw.
Having not been in the country long the import has made a big splash when trashing the Hollindale Stakes field at the Gold Coast just two weeks ago and the Annabelle Neasham trained runner is now in the hunt for maiden Group 1 glory.
Eight other nominations in the race come through the Hollindale of which the first 6 across the line that day lining up this coming Saturday.
Newcomers to the party include Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet who recently competed in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Mugatoo who is using the Doomben Cup as a springboard into his own upcoming Cox Plate campaign.
Mugatoo finished 1.8 lengths off the winner in the Queen Elizabeth and currently on the second line of betting at $4. Hugh Bowman is booked to ride the UK import once again and will jump from barrier 1.
Sir Dragonet is the only other runner in the field under double figures and sits on the third line at $6.
Another notable runner includes New Zealand star Melody Belle who is searching for history on Saturday.
The Doomben Cup will be the Jamie Richards runner's 41st and final start in racing and if successful in winning her final race she will equal Black Caviar in having 15 Group 1 wins.
Melody Belle is already New Zealand’s most successful racehorse after surpassing Sunline’s 13 Group 1 wins earlier in the year. She’s currently rated a $21 shot in betting after being well held in the Hollindale at the Gold Coast.
