Enthaar, a filly of Written Tycoon will be making her Melbourne debut in the 1100m Group 3 feature and punters will have a keen eye to see how the 2 year old goes at the same track she will compete at a month later for the $1.5m Blue Diamond.
With her being $3.50 currently on the all in markets for the Blue Diamond it’s unsurprising that Enthaar is currently a $1.25 shot to defeat the small field on Saturday and only Ingratiating ($4.60) and Son of Mercury ($9) the only other runners in single figures.
It’s easy to see where all the excitement comes from when you see Enthaar’s storming win in the Gimcrack over 1000m back in October at Randwick where she was cuddled up the straight before kicking clear over the last 100m and winding down again before the finish line.
Enthaar has only had one public outing since winning the Gimcrack which was a Werribee trial on January 12th under the ride of Mark Zahra.
Zahra will be back in the saddle again on Saturday drawing barrier 1 in the small field.
Also on Saturday the Manfred Stakes is turning out to be a close knit affair with just 6 runners in a hotly contested race that will see the return of Tagaloa and Caulfield Guineas runner up Aysar take on unbeaten Godolphin runner Dickin Medal in the $160,000 sprint for 3 year olds.
It is expected to be a tight race with Aysar leading betting at $3.20 and Tagaloa and Dickin Medal on the second line of betting at $3.50.
