.A great day of racing ahead with three Group 1 races taking place in Sydney and Melbourne as well as a host of Group races across both cards including the likes of the Blamey Stake and Liverpool City Cup supporting the Surround, Chipping Norton and Australian Guineas.
Both tracks are looking likely to be around a Good 3 or Good 4 quality so should play fairly true with no additional bias expected.
Randwick - Race 4 - Trumbull
Returning after a long lay off for the Kim Waugh stable but has impeccable first up form having 4 wins from 6 when back after a spell.
Last time out he finished lame and was over 5 lengths off Sweet Deal so had excuses there. Waugh was in the press in the week saying he was back to near his best and definitely at the value is a solid e/w bet.
Back Trumbull each way $8.
Randwick - Race 8 - Great House
Possibly the best bet of the day. Great House absolutely brained them on debut in Sydney and is expected to do so again if he’s going places.
Gets in at the low weight of 53kgs and with Tommy Berry on board its hard not to see him doing it again.
Great House to win $2.40
Flemington - Race 7 - Ole Kirk
Didn’t handle the wet last time out when finishing 8th of 9 in the Group 1 Futurity yet did still finish 6 lengths off a very good older horse in Probabeel.
Won the Caulfield Guineas over this distance and looking fitter after three runs. Should be ready to bounce back and the Hawkes team are good at getting there horses ready for a cup final.
Ole Kirk each way $8.
