A tidy field of 10 runners will compete in the Listed Carrington Stakes this weekend with a list of hopefuls looking to add a black type metro win to there CVs.
The favourite for the race is Hawkes trained runner Bandersnatch who currently sits as $2.70 favourite and has had some decent form around handicap racing in recent weeks. With Tommy Berry taking the ride it’s a positive sign but has always been finding one a bit better in those runs.
On paper the race looks a fairly ordinary affair however Chris Waller with be hoping his 7yo Gelding, Order Again can go back to back after gaining his first win under Sam Clipperton last time out.
“It was great to see him win like that last start. Last time in with Chris he showed a lot of potential,” Clipperton said.
“He didn’t have a lot of luck last preparation and horses like him who haven’t won for a while all of a sudden they get that confidence boost they need when they do win.
“I’m sure he’ll be very competitive again in this race.
“I’m looking forward to riding him again and Sacramento. They’re my two best chances on paper, being last start winners.
“They go into races where they need to step up again but both are capable of doing that and winning better races.”
Order Again currently sits as a $7.50 chance in betting and presents excellent e/w value having won and placed twice in his last six starts.
