Racing at Caulfield starts at 12.55pm with a nine race card. The track is predicted to be a Good 4 with the rail +3m the entire circuit.
Race 1 - Impecunious
We like the favourite in the first for the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable in Impecunious, Having only started 3 races with only 1 in Australia this 3 year old filly was all class when winning on debut at the same track two weeks ago.
Over 1200m she settled worse than midfield before charging through the pack to pull clear of the final 100m to win by 2.25 lengths.
She looked to have plenty in the tank that day and was pulling clear in the final 100m so the step up in distance shouldnt be an issue. Carrying 59kgs doesn’t worry either and with Damien Oliver taking the ride again these are all big ticks.
Impecunious to win - $2.50
Race 4 - Cielo D’Oro
In fine form this prep with 2 wins from two starts. The Hayes Dabernig team have been quietly confident on this one when still winning with no luck last time out.
Thar ride at the Valley showed real talent as he settled in the midfield and was checked at the 400m before running on strongly to narrowly miss before getting up on protest.
The Valley track is unforgiving with its tight bend and if we go back to the race before his win at Kyneton was very impressive trashing the field by over 4 lengths.
In form and nothing jumps out on this one to say he can’t win.
Cielo D’Oro each way - $6.50
