The Fred Best Classic is the final chance for runners to get a start in the Stradbroke Handicap and operates under simple win and you're in rules.
Ayrton who is a perfect 3 from 3 has opened at $1.60 to win the Group 3 feature at Eagle Farm and TAB All in markets have seen plenty of money for the Price runner.
As well as holding favouritism for the Group 3, Ayrton currently sits at the top of betting in the Stradbroke Handicap at $3.50. The only other runner in the race in single figures is the Hawkesbury Guineas winner Exoboom at $6.
Alongside the front two in the betting there is a strong field set to line up in the Fred Best Classic with 18 nominations including Magic Millions 3yo winner Aim, Newmarket placegetter Amish Boy and a host of other runners with black type wins under their belts.
Kris Lees trained Midland also heads north of the border to contest the Group 3 and was another runner to make it a hat trick of runs by taking out the Listed Inglis Guineas at Rosehill.
The Fred Best is merely the undercard on Saturday however with two Group 1s scheduled to headline in the Kingsford Smith Cup over 1300m and the Queensland Derby over 2400m.
Both races are expected to be hughley entertaining with all eyes on the Queensland Derby where Explosive Jack is looking to make it 4 Derby wins in a season and etch his name in the history books.
