The Tasmanian Turf Club was formed in 1871.
The Racing Centre is located approximately 3 kilometres from the heart of Launceston City.

The Club runs approx 25 race meetings.
The Tasmanian Turf Club has only one Group race on the calander that being the Launceston Cup, a Group three event run each year on a Wednesday afternoon in February at Launceston racecourse.
