Waterhouse Revived Via Partnership with Bott
It was not all that long ago when Gai Waterhouse was expressing a jaundiced attitude towards thoroughbred racing, and after all, she has been at it for a while, and just like most of us would admit, sometimes a change of scenery, in some form, is necessary.
Ms. Waterhouse, however, seems to have found new inspiration in continuing on the path she took up in following father T.J. Smith’s footsteps through her partnership with Adrian Bott. We only wish Mr. Bott’s first name were Robert, since we would dearly love to refer to him as Rob Bott.
The two were unceasingly praiseful of the other in the lea up to Saturday’s Magic Millions, saying that the combination of strengths each brings to the game results in an equation where the product exceeds the sum of the parts.
Both are expressing confidence in their horse Invincible Star, currently priced at $8.00 for the win by Sportsbet. The two-year-old filly has drawn the 16th barrier, not ideal, perhaps, be she has only a few ahead of her in terms of odds favouritism, so she and jockey Tim Clark are one of the pairs that needs watching and may be able to benefit from the attention directed at Ours To Keep, Madeenaty, Houtzen and From Within.
