Madeenaty Touted to Take Out Magic Millions and Golden Slipper
It seems at times that the colts and stallions are being supplanted by fillies and mares. That is partially due to the male thoroughbreds being retired at the first sign of an issue that could derail future stud fees, such as the case of Capitalist represents, or it could simply be our confirmation bias due to what we term the Winx effect.
Just the same, it looks as though another filly is set to grab the spotlight by chasing and potentially securing a prestigious Magic Millions – Golden Slipper Stakes double in the upcoming year.
The filly’s name is Madeenaty and according to Tom Dabernig, she will conclude 2016 with a lead up run in the Wyong Classic in December, a race, by the way, that served as something of a launching pad for the aforementioned Capitalist. Capitalist went on to win the double as well, serving as a valid precedent for Madeenaty, with the hope being that she not experience the injury fate that sent a promising Capitalist to a premature stint in the breeding barn.
The chase for the double will, according to Dabernig, prevent Madeenaty from running in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Stakes, reason being that there is simply not enough time to prepare her properly elsewise, especially in this current era where the workload for the top thoroughbreds is considerably lighter than in days gone by.
