Fremantle loses to GWS Kangaroos Have Prayer Answered Against Saints in Round 7
It might be premature, but only barely, to begin the talk about the potential for the Dockers to go winless for the entire season. They have already lost more games than in the entirety of the 2015 season and will need to do some serious tinkering if they are going to escape the fate of the 1964 Fitzroy Lions.
For Fitzroy at least, the season came to a merciful end after 18 games, so if Fremantle does indeed fail to win one match, they will have to lose five more to bring about 23 losses.
North Melbourne remains undefeated and stands four points clear of the Geelong Cats and the Sydney Swans, both of which have lost just the one game this year. The Roos had more on their plates than could have been anticipated, as they were expecting a walkover against St. Kilda. The Saints played as though possessed and not only gave the Roos all they could digest; they took the game into the final minute level with North. A behind by Todd Goldstein on a controversial free kick from just outside the 50 gave the Roos a one-point margin, and then Mason Wood slotted a goal in the waning seconds to give North a seven-point win.
