Capitalist Shortens For Magic Millions
It would appear that anyone fortunate enough to back Capitalist in the upcoming Magic Millions 2YO Classic at $1.80 has found a bargain of sorts, as Sportsbet recently priced him at $1.75.
Punters might feel as though Black Caviar has returned to the track with odds such as those, especially for a horse with two races on his resume.
Bloodstock agent James Harron, who bought Capitalist as a yearling for the now-seeming bargain price of $165,000 for a syndicate of owners seems to be confident that Capitalist will take the $2 million race. Harron has declared that Capitalist has more natural ability than 2015 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver that he bought alongside Gai Waterhouse.
The only other horse even remotely in the wagering picture is Zelady’s Night Out. Sportsbet has her at $8.00.
The wagering picture is much the same for the Golden Slipper in March, where Capitalist is currently priced at $5, with Astern holding the number two spot at $9. Zelady’s Night Out is sitting further back at $34, but all this pricing is idle speculation as the final field for the Slipper has yet to be determined.
Harron, from Ireland, indicated that it was Capitalist’s attitude as much or more than his pedigree, that has given him such supreme confidence for the MM.
