The Te Kapua Racecourse, operated by the Stratford Racing Club, has large spacious grounds bordered by bush and lakes and an extensive lawn area. This racecourse is ideal for picnickers either in front of the public stand which is in front of the winning post, or out the back beside the lake and gardens.

Admission is free to the Te Kapua Racecourse and to the extensive grandstands.

Children's entertainment includes air castles, face-painting, wooden train rides and lollies and there's lots of free prize giveaways.

Owners wishing to stay over have ample stalls and paddocks available at the course, free of charge.

A complimentary barbeque is held at the course the evening before the races. All owners and their guests are welcome to attend.

The feature event at the Te Kapua racecourse is Stratford Cup for $30,000 and the trophy.
