Holding 3 racedays a year in November, January and February, this is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic whilst watching the racing.
The racedays are a superb opportunity to hold corporate functions, the Tauherenikau Racecourse is also available throughout the year for conferences, budget type accommodation is available, and we are a family friendly environment.
Tauherenikau Racecourse is located on State Highway 2 between the South Wairarapa townships of Featherston and Greytown.
January Meeting - Tauherenikau Racecourse
This is the most popular of Tauherenikau's racedays, a family raceday with plenty of free entertainment for the family including kid's rides, novelty races, crowd participation in quizzes and live music.
Fast food including Expresso Express coffee is available on course but racegoers are welcome to bring their own picnics and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and ambience that is Tauherenikau.
The feature race is the Tui Brewery Wairarapa Cup with good supporting races.
A punter's club is also available for those people that want to have their bets selected for them.
Tauherenikau Racecourse is only 1 hour's drive from Wellington, Tauherenikau is known as 'Wellington's Home in the Country'.
A train leaves Wellington at 9.55 am on race morning (time could be subject to change), patrons are bought from the Featherston Railway Station to the racetrack and return free of charge
