The Theo Marks Stakes is a Sydney Turf Club Group 2 Australian quality handicap horse race for horses aged 3 years old and upwards.

It is contested over a distance of 1300 metres and is held annually at Rosehill Racecourse in Sydney in September duirng the Spring Racing Carnival.

Prizemoney for the Theo Marks Stakes is worth $200,000.

The other group races run on Theo Marks Stakes Day is the Group 3 Research Stakes (1200m) and the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m).

The Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1100m) held two weeks earlier at Rosehill is a good guide to this event.

Horses that contest the Theo Marks Stakes may continue on to other Sydney spring features including the Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) the following week or the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick Racecourse in early October.

First conducted in 1946, the inaugural Theo Marks Stakes was won by Shannon when it was a Principal race run over seven furlongs. For two years in 1990 and 1991 the Theo Marks Stakes was held over 1280 metres, before reverting back to 1300 metres in 1992.

The 2009 Theo Marks Stakes was won by Racing To Win from Rock Kingdom with Triple Honour third.

The 2010 Theo Marks Stakes will be run on the 11th September, 2010.
