The Rough Habit Plate is the ideal lead up to the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m) later in the carnival at Eagle Farm.

The Rough Habit Plate takes place on the offical first meeting of the Brisbane Racing Club's Winter Carnival, BTC Cup Day. The highlight is the $400,000 Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) and the third Group race feature at the meeting is the $100,000 Group 3 Chairman's Handicap (2020m).

The 2010 Rough Habit Plate was won by The Hombre from Tee Emar with Sanderson third.
