The Easter Cup has a long and proud history with $200,000 at stake for the lucky winner. It is held annually at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne in April. From 1949-1961, this event was known as the Sandown Cup. The group 3 has produced several racing champions such as 2008 Cox Plate winner Maldivian, Lord Palmerston in 1990, Adolescence in 2001, and Show Barry in 2005.
