Victoria Park race track is controlled
by the SAJC, Adelaide South Australia.
The main track has a circumference
of 2,360 metres with a 601 metres
straight. The
inner track is 1,960 metres with a straight 428 metres long. A
chute extends
off the main straight with 900 metres and 1000 metres races
having a straight
run to the winning post. The home straight is the longest in
Australia.
A fair even course.
Barrier Guide

1000 metres: The start
here is located in a chute at the end of the
home straight.
It provides runners with a straight run to the finishing
wire. Barriers
don't really come into play here.

1450 metres: Is located
in the back straight on the course proper giving
runners only about
200 metres before the first of 2 turns. Inside barriers
are
important here.

1500 metres: Same as
the 1450 metre start but now gives runners 250
metres of straight
run before the turn. Inside barriers a distinct
advantage.

1600 metres: Similar
to the 1450 metres start, situated on the course
proper in the back
of the straight. There is a straight run of 350 metres
to the
turn. Inside barriers have an advantage.

1650 metres: Same as
the 1600 metre start.

1800 metres: Situated
on the course proper in the back of the straight.
Runners have a straight
run of 550 metres before having to negotiate the
sweeping turn. Inside
barriers have a slight advantage.

2000 metres: Situated
in a chute off the course proper in the back
straight. This provides
runners with a straight run of 750 metres before
the sweeping turn.
Inside barriers have a slight advantage.

2600 metres: Starts
in the home straight and provides runners with a
straight run of 200
metres before the first turn. Inside barriers are
favoured.
