Te Aroha

The venue provides full training facilities (approx 80 horses in work), and is
home to Racing Te Aroha which holds 5 meetings each season. Two
grandstands overlooking the track provide patrons with excellent viewing of the
racing, with several of the lounges having been refurbished in recent years.
The Te Aroha track is considered by many as one of the finest racing surfaces
in New Zealand, where all horses are given an opportunity to perform with one
of the longest home straights in the country.
The Te Aroha racecourse is situated on a site covering approximately 120 acres,
situated on Stanley Road South, some 3 kilometres south of Te Aroha's business
area. , Te Aroha enjoys a reputation as being finest "country" racetrack in NZ,
while still providing an excellent racing surface.
New Zealand Bloodstock Breeders' Stakes Day -
This $150,000 event on Easter Saturday is a Fillies and Mares, Weight For Age
race run over 1600 metres. With a Group 1 prestige rating, the race is the
richest event on offer solely for fillies and mares in New Zealand, and invariably
attracts an outstanding field. The day has recently gained Premier status for
2007, which will see over $420,000 in prize money on offer on the day.
Admission is free, which includes access to the main (Members') stand. Children
are catered for with free children's entertainment.
