Home to Racing Tauranga , the course stages 10 meetings each season and is
considered as one of the finest provincial racing venues in New Zealand.
Following an extensive refurbishment, the venue offers a range of lounge
facilities in the two grandstands from where patrons can enjoy the action on
the track in quality, comfortable surroundings. In 2006, there was a major
$400,000 renovation of the main track, including extensive drainage work.
Japan/NZ Trophy Day -
Featuring the First Sovereign Japan/NZ International Trophy Race. This
$120,000 event holds Group 2 status which places it in the top 2% of all races
in New Zealand. The Club has the longest standing reciprocal race agreement
with the Japan Racing Association, with the NZ Trophy Stakes, also a Group 2
event, run at Tokyo racecourse each April.
Admission is free, which includes access for all racegoers to the main
(Members') stand. Children are catered for with free entertainment, a feature
at all of the club's Saturday or Holiday racemeetings.
