Tauherenikau racecourse, New Zealand

Tauherenikau racecourse provides without doubt one of the most picturesque
environments in New Zealand. Home to Wairarapa Racing Club , it's set in 110
acres of beautiful native bush, magnificent trees and peaceful surroundings with
a backdrop of the magnificent Tararua ranges. Holding 3 racedays a year in
November, January and February, this is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a
picnic whilst watching the racing. The racedays are a superb opportunity to
hold corporate functions, the racecourse is also available throughout the year
for conferences, budget type accommodation is available, and we are a family
friendly environment.
Located on State Highway 2 between the South Wairarapa townships of
Featherston and Greytown.

This is the most popular of Tauherenikau's racedays, a family raceday with
plenty of free entertainment for the family including kid's rides, novelty races,
crowd participation in quizzes and live music. Fast food including Expresso

own picnics and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and ambience that is
Tauherenikau. The feature race is the Tui Brewery Wairarapa Cup with good
supporting races. A punter's club is also available for those people that want to
have their bets selected for them.
