Ellerslie Race course is the home of the Auckland Racing Club and the Pakuranga Hunt Club .  The course has a world renowned reputation for the beauty of its grounds, gardens and trees as well as its famous steeplechase track. First class, award winning facilities in the modern Ellerslie Stand provide the ultimate in raceday amenities and double as an outstanding Event Centre on non- racedays.

The Ellerslie Racecourse is well sign posted from the Southern Motorway. The best exit is the 'Greenlane' off-ramp. At the Greenlane roundabout turn left (if travelling from the City) or right (if travelling from the south) on to Greenlane East Road. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Ascot Avenue. On your left will be the Ascot Hospital and on your right the Novotel Hotel. Turn right at the 1st roundabout and left at the second roundabout and you will drive into the grounds.

Auckland Cup

This 3 day Carnival showcases the best thoroughbred racing has to offer with the nation's finest horses, jockeys and trainers competing for the biggest prizes in the country including the Mercedes Derby and the SKYCITY Auckland Cup. Auckland Cup Week action not only takes place on the track, but also incorporates several high profile events outside the actual racing including the Auckland Cup Charity Ball, the Street Parade of Champions and the fabulous Prix de Fashion competition.
