Ascot Park racecourse in Invercargill is home to Southland Racing Club and hosts five meetings a year.  Wairio Jockey Club also hosts their annual meeting here.  Invercargill is within easy traveling distance of some beautiful scenery in the Catlins, Fiordland and Stewart Island. Ascot Park is easily found when entering Invercargill on State Highway 1 from the North. Just turn, first right, onto Racecourse Road, as you enter the City Boundary past the Ascot Park Hotel, and the Racecourse is easily seen on your right 200m along the Road.

Features the running of the prestigious $45,000 Invercargill Gold Cup (listed) and the $45,000 Ascot Park Hotel Southland Guineas (Listed). It is one of Invercargill's oldest on-going sporting events and has never ceased to be a great spectacle.
